Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of an instruction, report or service, the process below sets out how to raise it and what happens next.

How to raise a complaint

Complaints should be made in writing to info@thoracicsurgeryexpertwitness.co.uk, setting out the nature of the complaint and, where possible, the instruction or report it relates to.

What happens next

  • Your complaint will be acknowledged within 2 working days
  • It will be investigated by Mr Scarci, for matters concerning the clinical opinion, or by Lexmed, for administrative matters, depending on the nature of the complaint
  • A substantive response will be provided within 20 working days of acknowledgement, or an explanation given if more time is needed

If you remain unsatisfied

  • The Expert Witness Institute or the Academy of Experts, if Mr Scarci holds membership relevant to the complaint
  • The General Medical Council, for concerns about Mr Scarci’s conduct as a registered medical practitioner (GMC number 6159768)
